Control Human Delete hails from the east of the Netherlands and released Error Spectre a few months ago. Error Spectre is the second release of this young band and is one hell of a professional package. It includes a full colour booklet, a pressed instead of burned CD, which includes a beautifully designed extra CDROM-track including a video clip of “Seeking For The End Of Life” and of course some highly interesting music. Error Spectre is build around the concept that humanity is quickly destroying its own habitat and ultimately will destroy its own race. In C.H.D. words: “We have always been seeking for the end of life”. It still isn’t clear to me if the band thinks this is a good or a bad thing but anyway the concept is a strong one. The first track “Error Spectre” is an intro in which the long impressive monologue of agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) from the Matrix is used to underline the concept. The following tracks delve deeper into this subject. The music to accompany the lyrics fits really well. The first band that comes to mind is Satyricon. They too have this hard to describe cold feeling over them. It’s a combination of strong screams, haunting guitar riffs and tight drumming and a great production. In comparison to Satyricon C.H.D. use more spoken lyrics and a lot of samples. The songs all have a long running time but are interesting enough to keep my attention. Long atmospheric parts with keyboards and spoken passages are combined with icy black metal in the vein of the aforementioned Satyricon. The production is unbelievable for a demo and Pascal Altena from Ground Zero Productions deserves respect for doing an excellent job. Overall I found this release pretty impressive. The music is very strong and shows great potential but more bands show that. What sets C.H.D. really apart from the rest is the professional package and website. In a desperate attempt to find some point of criticism I must say that the sometimes thick accent of singer Rien Oortgiesen is a thing they should work on but this is only a minor complaint. If any record company is in search of a talented professional interesting band you know where to look. Tell ‘em I sent you.

Even een update: ik denk dat we nu ongeveer halverwege zijn met het schrijven van de komende full-lenght schijf, er zijn nu zo'n 4 nummers af en we gaan nog best snel vindt ik. Door de drummer switch vallen de nummers vooral een stuk sneller en harder uit. Er komen GEEN nummers van de mini op die cd, er komt gewoon weer een nieuw concept EN we brengen hem gewoon weer zelf uit... de titel wordt: TERMINAL WORLD PERSPECTIVE

hehe, de mcd staat eindelijk besproken in de Aardschok... ik heb hem zelf nog niet (morgen effe kopen dan) maar er schijnen nogal wat vreemde dingen in te staan...

"Control Human Delete denkt na over het leven en de schepping. Zoveel is duidelijk. Wat levert het muzikaal op? Vroeger zouden we de CDemo 'Error Spectre' onder noise of industrial plaatsen. Aan de ene kant moet Control Human Delete het nietsontziende oeuvre van Foetus voor ogen hebben gehad, aan de andere kant lijkt de band te zijn geinspireerd op concepten als die van Neurosis. Bij vlagen levert deze band uit Enschede Teutoonse, tragische en weemoedige metal af met een sterk grind- en doomkarakter. Corntrol Human Delete spiegelt ons de laatste dagen voor het grote verval voor. Op een manier waar ze bij Relapse trots op zouden zijn."

idd, leuk verhaal maar er wordt niks vertelt over de muziek in feite... ik zelf zie de overeenkomsten met de genoemde bands niet eens (laat staan dat we er naar luisteren) en je wordt niet veel wijzer van de recensie... want we zitten toch duidelijk meer in een BM hoek

Il buon Maanehav come al solito si conferma un talent scout d.o.c. e in una stanca mattina di Aprile decide di inviare questo "Error Spectre", mcd di debutto degli olandesi Control Human Delete, al sottoscritto, per una supervisione del potenziale distruttivo di tale band. Ebbene, le supposizioni si sono rivelate fondatissime! Il combo olandese incarna lo spirito di bands come Thorns, Zyklon e Dimension F3H. Insomma abbiamo a che fare con uno splendido coacervo heavy/black/industrial dalla grande personalità e dalle soluzioni sempre sorprendenti...l'album si apre con una intro (la title track) basata chiaramente su synths "spaziali" e vocals robotiche (molto Thorns...) che danno un'idea generica di cosa aspettarsi...chaos industriale! E' questo la successiva e la prima vera song "Seeking For The End of Life" (scaricabile), un glaciale prototipo di ingegneria nucleare che deve sicuramente molto ai Thorns (quando cazzo esce il nuovo album!!? Forza Moonfog...) e alla nuova cyber-compagine norvegese degli ultimi anni (Zyklon, Red Harvest etc.). Le alternanze, le soluzioni claustrofobiche scelte dai CHD hanno davvero del geniale come in "Discipline March Towards Destruction", 9 minuti di follia in cui da una base industriale, i nostri tirano fuori parti di pianoforte e ripartenze ultrafast in Satyricon black style periodo "Rebel Extravaganza" per poi ricadere nell'oblio più profondo generato da inquietanti loops e sintetizzatori...la classe c'è e si sente, un riffing, una struttura di questo tipo se li possono permettere i Meshuggah (con i quali, attenzione, hanno ben poco con cui spartire) e pochi altri...ascoltate l'ultima "Convulsion of the Truth" quasi cinque minuti di convulso (come suggerisce il titolo), asettico, ritmato techno-metal da "fomento oalbertiano" (hehe sorry oal)!! Rimango basito se penso che questa grandiosa band non ha ancora un contratto...ai giorni d'oggi, la Century Media si permette di scaricare i Samael e puntare sui Lacuna Coil...c'è qualcosa che non va...auguro ai CHD di trovare supporto per il gran salto...lo meritano. Rivelazione.
